Video: One Day in London

Hello again everyone! Today I bring to you something a bit different. A video! I decided to film what I got up to when I went into London for the weekend just over a week ago.

The clips in the video are pretty much in chronological order. I was with the boyfriend for the day and whenever we go into Central the first stop is always food! Actually. Food is always the first stop no matter who I hang out with. We ended up eating at Dirty Burger because the Korean BBQ place we wanted to originally visit wasn't going to be open until 6pm and it was in the afternoon. Total schoolboy error for not googling if the restaurant was open or not!

Next stop was the Alice in Wonderland Exhibition at The British Library to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the story. The exhibition is free and I believe it's staying until around April. If you love the story and are interested in illustration I recommend checking it out! It's pretty cool seeing and reading about the different versions of Alice. The only disappointing thing about the exhibition was that no cameras were allowed for half of it.

The final destination was Lumiere London with a bit of a hiccup along the way. I left my filter and lens cap at Dirty Burger so we had to go back there first because seeing the light festival *face palm*. Lumiere consists of various light displays and installations that are dotted around London. We didn't manage to see everything because it got really cold as it got later into the night. Also, some displays were a bit...underwhelming. However, there were some pretty awesome one to make up for it. My favourite was probably Les Voyageurs (The Travellers) by Cedric Le Borgne. My video does the installation no justice at all but it was truly beautiful in person.

And that conclude what I got up to in the video! I hope it's enjoyable to watch. I want to set myself more projects like these and hope to make more videos. I seem to be making them at a rate of one per year (my previous and first ever video was about Japan which you can see here). Hopefully that will change!

What did you get up to on the weekend? Mine wasn't as eventful as in the video's as I stayed in haha.

Hello 2016 (I'm Back!)

HELLO EVERYONE! Happy New Year! Hope everyone enjoyed the festive season. Welcome to 2016!

New year. New diary.

So my last post was a little over 4 months ago. It was a pretty negative post. I announce I was going to be away from my blog for an unknown period of time because of health reasons. Well, I'm happy to announce that I'm ready to get back in the blogging game!

Quite a bit has happened to say the least since I last blogged. Here are a few snaps to show some highlights of what I've been up to towards the end of my 2015!

Hiatus: Eczema and RSS/TSA/TSW Awareness

Hello blog world; I have once again returned. Well...kind of. It's been quite difficult for me to blog over the past year because of various reasons but I still wanted to try keep this blog running. However, I have finally decided to put this blog on hiatus for an indefinite period of time due to health reasons; my eczema. Some of you may have seen me mention it here and there on my blog but I want to properly address it today. I also want to spread some awareness about something I'm going through right now called "Topical Steroid Withdrawal" (aka TSW). This is going to be quite a lengthy post, so for those who want the long story short:

DON'T USE STEROID CREAMS (or use them very sparingly).

For those who want to continue reading, I'm going to warn you that some of the photos I'm going to include are pretty gross. Eczema is a skin condition that is itchy and dry which doesn't sound life threatening but this post is here to show how bad it can become. Eczema needs to be taken seriously.

June 2015

Let's start with a somewhat presentable photo of me so I don't scare anybody yet. A little back story: I took this selfie because I had just done my make up on the train and was pretty proud of the result! I didn't upload the photo to anywhere until now, because if you look carefully you can see my shoulder, neck and chest area had red patches and dots on them. I even tried to cover it with my hair and no photo filters was going to hide that redness! I had other photos from my little selfie session but all of them were the same; you can see my red patchy skin in all of them.

During this time was when we had the heatwave in the UK which worsened my eczema. I didn't want show my skin but it was just too hot to keep it covered. It was affecting my self confidence so I went to see the doctors to get some more steroid cream because the one I was using (Dermovate) was running out and moisturiser wasn't cutting it for me. I also requested a cream for my face because my eczema had spread to my face and I seriously felt ugly on days it was scaly. And so the doctor gave me some new steroid cream; I was prescribed Hydrocortisone for my face and Eumovate for whatever else was on my body.

Hair Diary: DIY Black Hair to Blonde

Woah blogworld! Long time no speak! Whilst I was absent, I did it guys! I managed to get my black hair to a blonde colour by myself :D

Spot the difference

Last year when I was lightening my hair I only used dyes so I never hit blonde. Unfortunately to get blonde hair from a dark colour, you will probably need to us bleach at some point. So this time round that's what I did; plus this method would lighten my hair quicker. To make it less damaging, I used a method called "bleach bathing" which is when you dilute the bleach with shampoo to make it less harsh. Towards the end of my hair lightening journey though, I did start using just bleach because I was getting sick of being different shades of ginger. So yeah, that a quick summary of what I did! I took pictures of each stage I was at so in this post I will be showing you just that. Hopefully it will help somebody out there who's considering to go blonde!

[Note] Before I begin I'd like to state I am not a professional! Dying and bleaching my own hair is like a hobby for me. Most of my research is from YouTube videos, reading other people's experiences on blogs and forums, and my own trials and errors. Please take my post like a grain of salt ( ^_^")

Blog Swap with Pam (Jade in the Palace)

*Note* First paragraph is going to be me rambling about what's happened recently in life. Feel free to scroll past if you want to get straight into my blog swap :)

Hello blog world! I want to quickly apologise for the inconsistency of my posts. A lot of stuff has been happening to my life outside the internet. This Monday I finally stepped into the world of full time employment! Before getting this job I was working part time in retail/sales which I really wanted to get out of so I was constantly looking for a new job. I was really stressed from all this job hunting but that stress was increased when my last job pretty much told me I was being made redundant!! Moving onto something happier though, a positive reason for my absence in blogging is I've taken up working out regularly which I've stuck to pretty well. I say "pretty well" because things sort of went downhill when I found out I potentially could've ended up unemployed but I'm slowly getting back on track :'D Now that things are finally falling into place I hope I'll be blogging more regularly like I used to. I've honestly not had the motivation for the past months, because every time I went on my laptop to do anything other than looking for a job, I felt guilty. But now I don't need to job hunt anymore \(^o^)/

About a month ago I did a blog swap with Pam from Jade in the Palace. This swap has a bit of a back story because it wasn't even supposed to be a swap! Pam had won a giveaway I hosted ages ago but we encountered a lot of trouble sending the prize (very long story!) so she never received it :( Fast forward some months I decided to try sending Pam another package because it never felt right that she won my giveaway but didn't get anything in return. Pam being so lovely decided to turn things into a swap! This is what I got ^^

Pam really spoilt me ^///^

I've always liked reading other people's monthly favourites and empties. Never got into making my own posts though because I don't go through that many products in one month. However, recently I've tried a few products which I've really enjoyed, want to to talk about them but don't have enough to say to make a full review on the products. So I'm now going to start doing post called "Likes"! I'm not sure if it's going to be a monthly thing but we shall see in the future~
